First Impressions…Lasting Impressions Prenatal Consult

The saying goes, “You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.”

While this may not be entirely true when it comes to your baby, the earlier you educate yourself about your newborn’s unique needs, abilities and concerns the more relaxed and prepared you will be when the baby arrives.

A prenatal consult with Carolyn will supply you with the tools you need to provide the best possible care for your baby while helping to promote development of your newborn’s sensory, brain, regulatory and emotional function. Coming into our world from being in-utero is a life altering change for an infant. In this day and age it is very easy to over stimulate your newborn with lights, noise, activity and the general pace of day-to-day life. During your Prenatal Consult, Carolyn will help you to understand how your newborn perceives his environment and easy techniques for modifying your caregiving and moderating stimulation so you, your baby and your family can focus on the important things like bonding, attachment and getting to know each other!

Prenatal Consult sessions are $85 and include the 30-minute First Impressions... Lasting Impressions infant massage DVD. Consults can take place at Carolyn’s Brookside home or your own (mileage charge applies). Please call or email to schedule an appointment before your due date; ideally 6-8 weeks in advance.

Private

Private infant massage instruction is available for you and your baby either in Carolyn’s Brookside office or at your home. Private instruction allows complete focus on you and your baby minimizes outside distractions inherent in a group setting and provides an optimal learning experience. Rates for private instruction are $60 per session plus $3 per mile for in-home instruction and can be scheduled by emailing or calling 816-931-0654.

Closed Circuit Video

The “First Impressions…Lasting Impressions” video is available in a 20 minute format for use in your hospital, doctor’s office or childcare setting under a Limited Release of Copyright. For information regarding this option, please contact Carolyn at or call 816-931-0654.
