"The Nurturing NICU Workshop presents a thorough education on the
aspects of touch in the NICU with a developmental care perspective. The visuals
presented offered opportunities to see touch in action; the handouts were useful
and informative and gave me the confidence I needed to begin a touch therapy
program where I am employed. This workshop was presented with integrity by all
the speakers, who each had a broad knowledge base in their specialty and I had a
wonderful time networking with other NICU nurses."
Michelle Romano, RN, MS, CIMI
Northern Westchester Hospital Center, Mt. Kisco, NY
"The Nursing staff found Carolyn to be an excellent teacher with not
only a great deal of information about massage, but also a clear understanding
of how to apply this to the preterm infant. Having Carolyn come to our facility
enabled a much greater number of staff to hear directly from the expert, which
increased their motivation to start the program".
Maura Fitzgerald, MS, RN, C, Clinical Nurse Specialist
Children's Hospitals and Clinics, Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN
"The step-by-step instructions in the clinical application and
implementation of a touch therapy program have given me the last bit of
confidence I felt I needed to begin a program in our NICU".
Orphia Bass, PT
Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Cleveland, OH
"I believe the Nurturing NICU is a most valuable training for
establishing a hospital-based program for parents and their medically fragile
infants. Teaching parents the information and techniques I learned at the
workshop helps the parents to be an integral part of their baby's growth and
healing".
